Yonatan Herzfeld
Assistant Director of World Herut
Yonatan Herzfeld is the Assistant Director of World Magshimey Herut and World Herut.Yonatan was born and raised in Westchester, NY and has been passionate about Israel since a young age. Yonatan received his B.S. in Health Science and Healthcare Management from SUNY Stony Brook University. On campus Yonatan promoted Zionist education to the student body at large as well as forming key partnerships with student leaders from other influential communities on campus.Two months after graduation Yonatan left his family, friends and life behind to make aliyah to Israel fulfilling a personal dream of his as well as the dream of his ancestors for thousands of years. Yonatan lived on Kibbutz Alumim in the Gaza envelope for a year and a half before moving to Jerusalem and was drafted to the Paratroopers Brigade as a lone soldier. Initially serving in his Battalion as a sharpshooter, Yonatan was quickly sent to commanders course after which he personally commanded seventeen soldiers in his class. Yonatan was honorably released with the rank First Sergeant and currently serves as an active reservist in the 55th Paratroopers Brigade.Yonatan enjoys nature, hikes, swimming, hanging out with friends, can ride a unicycle and is a former trapeze artist.
